Starobilsk District Basketball Cup

The team of our university took the 1st place in the Regional Basketball Tournament.

On December 12, 2020, 5×5 Basketball Cup of the Starobilsk District was held at the children’s and youth sports school in Starobilsk, dedicated to the Day of honoring the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident. In a fierce struggle, four teams of adult basketball players played in a round robin system.

As a result, the team “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” took the 1st place. The sportsman of our Alma mater Roman Sorochaikin was recognized as the best scorer. All teams were awarded with cups, certificates, medals.

We express our gratitude to the organizers of the competition – the culture and youth sector of the Starobilsk Regional State Administration, the city center of the physical culture and sports society “Spartak” and the directorate of the Youth Sports School for the opportunity to hold the competition in wonderful conditions.

Unfortunately, due to quarantine conditions, the competition was held without spectators.
