The oldest tradition of the History Faculty

The Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences continues to fill the section “History Faculty in Photos”.
Dear friends! We present to your attention our new project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of our native Alma Mater: “History Faculty in Photos”. The dynamic history of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences, as one of the leading structural subdivisions of our university, is rich in various important events for us. The old yellowed photos reflect the “History Faculty’s” successes in various spheres. Our illustrious teachers, still young and full of hopes for the future, look at us, descendants. Someone will recognize themselves in the photo – the first lectures and seminars, scientific conferences, concerts, archaeological expeditions. All this is the glorious history of the “legendary” “History Faculty”.
This time a message about one of the most famous and ancient traditions of the History Faculty – a holiday of initiation into history students. This tradition appeared in the 70s. last century, when Vladimir Yakovlev for the first time “brought” to the stage the legendary ancient Greek historian Herodotus and his beautiful nymphs. Since then, from year to year, first-year students solemnly proclaim the symbolic Oath of the “Father of History” Herodotus. “Dedication” is essentially the first symbolic milestone in the life of a student-historian, the memory of which remains for many years.
