Pre-defense of the doctoral dissertation

During the scheduled meeting of the Pedagogy Department of the ER IPP, the pre-defense of the doctoral dissertation took place.

On December 4, teachers of the Department of Pedagogy held an online meeting on the Google Meet platform. The agenda included the pre-defense of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Science in the specialty 13.00.04 “Theory and Methods of Vocational Education” by Maria Pochinkova on the topic: “Formation of Critical Thinking of Future Primary School Teachers in the Process of Vocational Training” (scientific consultant – Doctor of Pedagogy Sciences, Professor Olena Karaman).

Reviewers of the work – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Serhii Savchenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Svitlana Shekhavtsova and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Kravchenko emphasized that the relevance of the study is determined by the objective need of society and the state for highly qualified primary school teachers with a high level of critical thinking, who are not they simply possess critical thinking, but are also capable of developing it in the future generation. They noted that it is the ability of the future generation to think critically that will determine the vector of development of civil society in Ukraine in the coming years. They also expressed opinions on possible adjustments to the work and provided personal positive feedback.

Discussion of the dissertation research caused a lively discussion, at the end of which it was decided to recommend the work for defense in the Specialized Academic Council, provided that the comments proposed during the discussion were eliminated.
