Present of the Department of Laboratory Diagnostics, Chemistry and Biochemistry

Laboratory diagnostics is one of the priority areas of medical activity, which is constantly developing both in Ukraine and abroad.

Without the results of laboratory tests, it is impossible not only to make a clinical diagnosis, but also to monitor the effectiveness and safety of drug therapy. The doctor’s decision on diagnostics, prevention and treatment of the patient depends on the level of reliability of laboratory tests.

Rapid technological progress in the field of laboratory diagnostics (the introduction of high-tech equipment, the use of methods of cell and molecular diagnostics, etc.) today requires the training of highly qualified specialists with in-depth knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics and the basics of medicine, practical skills in the application of modern methods of molecular biology and genetics.

Educational and scientific achievements are fruitfully combined with new developments, which are prepared in accordance with the requirements for educational institutions of medical education.

Teaching students at the Department of Laboratory Diagnostics, Chemistry and Biochemistry is based on the principles of ensuring the methodological and informational organization of the educational process with elements of independent work, as well as on the introduction of new effective forms of control of knowledge and skills. Original lectures, practical classes for students are conducted using multimedia and the latest technologies.

Students majoring in Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Technologies, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, despite the quarantine, continue to actively study online using the Microsoft Teams platform.

Teachers of the Department of Laboratory Diagnostics, Chemistry and Biochemistry actively carry out scientific and educational work, successfully use the technological capabilities of the platform, combining them with their scientific achievements. Recently, the Head of the Department, I.G. Novoskoltseva, took part in the scientific symposium of the Congress of the World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Societies and then shared her knowledge with students. The experience gained for students significantly expands knowledge, forms professional competencies, and ultimately makes them highly qualified specialists.

A friendly, sensitive atmosphere at the department is the key to obtaining modern professional knowledge and skills. For specialists seeking to translate their scientific proposals into practice, the department staff creates all the necessary conditions to achieve the set goal.
