Scholarship of the President of Ukraine

Anastasia Sykalo, student of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences, became a scholarship holder of the President of Ukraine.
Active student science is one of the long-standing traditions of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences. History students have repeatedly become participants and prize-winners of various scientific events of the all-Ukrainian level, regularly won prizes at the annual competition of student scientific works. The scientific achievements of the students of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences were repeatedly awarded with honorary distinctions, certificates and prizes at the university and all-Ukrainian levels. This year was no exception. Anastasia Sykalo, a third-year student majoring in Secondary Education (History) became the laureate of the scholarship of the President of Ukraine.
This success is the result of active and painstaking scientific work, which Anastasia has been doing for three years. Already studying in the first year, she repeatedly presented reports at practical classes and Days of Science. In April 2019, she took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Luhansk Region: Regional Exploration” (Starobilsk city), where she made a report on the history of one of the architectural and spiritual pearls of the Luhansk region – Osinovska church. Since then, her participation in the local history conference, which has been held for four years in a row on the basis of our institute, has become regular.
On February 20, 2020 Anastasia made a presentation at the II All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference for young scientists, postgraduate students and students “History of Ukraine in Regional and Global Dimensions”, which was held by Donetsk State University of Management (Mariupol city).
Anastasia is a member of the Luhansk archaeological team, which conducts regular research of the Neolithic site in Starobilsk city, the historical and archaeological reserve “Olvia” in the Mykolaiv region (August 2019).
An important success of Anastasia was the third prize in the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works on history, which was held at the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central State Pedagogical University (Kropyvnytskyi city). Under the scientific guidance of Olha Zabudkova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of History of Ukraine, the contestant prepared a scientific work on the topic: “Charitable Activities of the Alchevsk Family (late 19th – early 20th centuries)”, which has undoubted scientific and social relevance.
The professors and teaching staff of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences heartily congratulate Anastasia and her scientific advisor Olha Zabudkova on such an important achievement in the scientific field, and hopes that it will not be the last.
