The Department of Philological Disciplines of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The state institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” celebrates its 100th anniversary. This year, the Department of Philological Disciplines of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology celebrates its 40th anniversary. On November 20, 2020, a solemn conference was held to mark the anniversary.
The Department began its way back in 1980. The Department is known for its educational and scientific traditions, which it has maintained over the years. Now the department, together with the university, is in a forced evacuation to Starobilsk city. Today the staff of the Department is doctors of sciences, candidates, assistants: Dmytro Uzhchenko, Vitalina Kizilova, Natalia Mordovtseva, Oksana Tsalapova, Vira Pushko, Tamara Markotenko, Larysa Melnyk, Maria Pochinkova, Svitlana Rud, Ninel Pravova, Olena Slobodian, Margaryta Vasilieva, Kateryna Kovalenko, Iryna Maslovska.
Unfortunately, due to quarantine measures, the conference was held online.
The event was opened by the Head of the Department Natalia Mordovtseva, who addressed the conference participants with an introductory speech about the peculiarities of the department’s activities at the present stage.

For many years the department has been fruitfully cooperating with scientific institutions and universities of our country, with which they have long-standing friendly relations. Constructive partnership in training, research, scientific and practical conferences, seminars, trainings helps to awaken the interest of young researchers in scientific research, inform the general scientific community about the innovative heritage of scientific thought.

O. Didorenko.
The teachers of the department laid solid foundations for the development of scientific thought at the university, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Philological Disciplines Vitalina Kyzylova spoke about their achievements.
The history of the department is inextricably linked with the functioning of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, whose director for a long time was the Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Honorary Professor of the University Hennadii Bozhko. As a wise leader of one of the largest institutes of our university, he cared about the development of the department, about strengthening its staff. His words-appeals to teachers were significant and touching, evoked pleasant memories of those times. In addition, congratulations were received from Liudmyla Ivanova and Lidia Obukhovska, who mentioned an interesting collaboration with the department.
During its existence, the department has experienced many stormy events, but always overcome them with honor and strengthened. All this happened thanks to the teachers, scientists who worked hard, loved their job, gave the department most of their lives. On the occasion of the anniversary, veterans of the faculty – Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Iraida Postnikova, Master of Elementary Education Svitlana Rud shared their memories of the friendly staff of the department, its fruitful work.
For 40 years, the department has trained more than 10,000 educational specialists who make a significant contribution to the education of future generations. Graduates of different years joined the congratulations on the anniversary of the department – Assistant of the Department of Philological Disciplines Ninel Pravova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education Maryna Yepikhina, graduate student Margarita Vasilieva, chairman of the student directorate Roman Nikolaev.
Most of all, the Department of Philological Disciplines is a family of like-minded people, has brought up and continues to educate real professionals, even fans, for whom the highest values have always been dedication, mutual respect, and human dignity.
I would like to thank them for their high professionalism, fruitful work, significant contribution to the development of national education and science, for the fortitude and dedication of the institute, their native university.
