Doctoral dissertation defense

On November 3, the defense of Iryna Myhovych’s doctoral dissertation supervised by Vitalii Kurylo, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine took place.

The strategic goal of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is to improve the quality of human resources, which is also the key to the scientific progress of the institution and the professional growth of its employees. To accomplish this task, university teachers are actively working on scientific research in accordance with the scientific topics of the departments, annually defend dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences.

So, on November 3, 2020, at the Specialized Academic Council for the defense of doctoral (candidate’s) dissertations D 029.053.03, chaired by Professor Leonid Vakhovskyi, a doctoral dissertation (based on a monograph) by the Associate Professor Iryna Myhovych “The process of internationalization and its impact on the transformation of national systems of higher education in Eastern Europe at the end of the XX – beginning of the XXI century” in the specialty 13.00.01 – General pedagogy and History of Pedagogy. The Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vitalii Kurylo became the scientific consultant.

Official opponents are:

• Alina Anatoliivna Sbrueva, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor, Head of the Department of Pedagogy, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko;
• Inna Olegivna Stashevska, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture;
• Yaroslava Mykolaivna Belmaz, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign Philology of the Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Humanitarian Pedagogical Academy”.

On the basis of the represented monograph and results of the brilliant defense, the members of the Dissertation Council decided to award Iryna Myhovych the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty 13.00.01 – general pedagogy and history of pedagogy.
