From Education to Career

Master’s student of our university reached the final of the competition “From Education to Career”.
The master’s student of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology majoring in Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology Liudmyla Kameniuka reached the final of the competition “From Education to Career” under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy Natalia Otroshchenko.
Professional orientation at school, the awareness of pupils of their own choice of further educational trajectory or professional activity is one of the goals of the Ministry of Education and Science according to the action program of the Government of Ukraine. The EducationUSA network in Ukraine, with the support of the US Embassy in partnership with the EdEra Online Education Studio, the CSR Development Center, the Ministry of Education and Science, and MKMS, have launched an online training course “With Pupils About Education and Career.”
Liudmyla Kameniuka, master’s student of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology majoring in Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology, biology teacher at the Kondrashevsky Lyceum, Kupianskyi District, Kharkiv Region, reached the finals of the “From Education to Career” competition for the best lesson plan / group consultation on choosing an educational and career path for 8-11th grade pupils as part of a special program to attract senior advisors institutions of general secondary education from the EducationUSA Advisory Center.
This competition was held with the aim of developing consulting skills among teachers and psychologists in general secondary education institutions, integrating tools for self-knowledge of senior pupils into the educational process, and developing the ability to consciously choose an educational and career path among senior pupils. The only condition for participation in the competition was the successful completion of the online course “With Pupils about Education and Career” on the EdEra platform. “With Pupils About Education and Career” is a free online course for high school teachers, homeroom teachers, social educators, school psychologists, youth workers, and school parents. The course offers tools for working with 8-11th grade pupils: lesson plans, additional materials, presentations and interactive consultation scripts.
For consideration by the jury of the competition, Liudmyla presented two developments that were prepared as part of the master’s work “Social and professional self-determination of senior pupils in a rural institution of general secondary education: training “Professional implementation in the village – possible / not (leave what is needed)” and consultation “Internet – to help the applicant”. The professional advice was included in the top 10 and will be published on the course page “With Pupils about Education and Career” on the EdEra platform.
