Open lecture for students

Students of the Starobilsk Humanitarian Pedagogical College listened to a lecture from the Career Development Center.

On October 7, 2020, Olena Glushchenko, a leading specialist at the Career Development Center, gave a lecture for students of the Starobilsk Humanitarian Pedagogical College. The topic of the event was the employment of minors.

Olena told the audience in detail about the job search algorithm. Among the basic rules, she noted “Strive with all perseverance for the job that you want more” or “The more time you spend on defining your priorities among the many applicants for this or that job, the better your chances”. She also noted that the situation on the labor market is changing rapidly, so there is no need to delay the search for a job. Those present learned the typical reasons for the refusal to work, including indecision, lack of interest and enthusiasm, unwillingness to communicate with anyone, unkempt appearance.

Olena dwelled on the issue of the working capacity of minors in detail. Under article 188, persons under the age of 16 are not accepted for work. As an exception, this can only be with the consent of the parents or responsible persons.

As a separate item, she noted the point of concluding an agreement, because this is one of the most important parts of employment. Together with the students, they discussed the specifics of each subclause, benefits and compensation for workers.

The event was informative and important for students, because they must know their rights and responsibilities in advance.
