The Day of Knowledge was solemnly celebrated at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Knowledge Day is always a solemn and exciting day full of emotionality and happy atmosphere. The unknown path to new knowledge, acquaintances and opportunities begins on this day. 

Despite the quarantine conditions, the new academic year has begun in our Alma Mater! From the very morning, an atmosphere of warmth and happiness reigned in the university courtyard, because the students and teaching staff got together and exchanged greetings and wishes. The multicolored holiday gave the walls of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University a cheerful mood and a sense of unity.

In the morning, colleges gathered in classrooms to familiarize first-year students with the structure of departments and their leadership.

Further, a solemn ceremony took place at the university yard, which began with the raising of the flags of Ukraine, the European Union and our higher education institution.

With the beginning of the new academic year, Vitalii Kurylo, Chairman of the Academic Council of LTSNU, congratulated students and teachers from the stage and noted that this academic year begins unconventionally due to the epidemiological situation and the course of the 2020 admission campaign.

Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Serhii Savchenko addressed the freshmen with the following words: “Today you are taking the first step on the path to personal growth, to the formation of you as specialists and patriots of our state. I hope that in a few years you will proudly say, “I graduated from the Luhansk National Taras Shevchenko University” and have the opportunity to experience the best years of life – student years. We will do our best for this”.

The celebration continued with the laying of flowers at the monument to Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko as a symbol of involvement in one of the most devoted patriots of our country.

On this day, two more important events took place – the opening of new, modernly equipped classrooms. The Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology has equipped an auditorium for students majoring in Preschool Education. According to Olena Karaman, Director of the Institute of Education and Science, the Institute quickly responds to innovations in the field of education and science in Ukraine, therefore, the equipment of a modern laboratory has become a reaction to the approval of a new concept for preschool education. The presentation of the updated laboratory, which is equipped with modern equipment, took place at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. “This auditorium is prepared for conducting training sessions for students majoring in  Secondary Education. Biology and Biology”, Olha Hubska, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the FNS noted. 

In order to familiarize the freshmen with the structure of the university, a quest trip was organized, during which they visited 9 locations, among which were the auditorium of the New Ukrainian School, a gym, a geological museum, etc. Thus, the students not only had a good and interesting time, but also were able to get to know each other.

So the holiday on September 1 came to an end. From now on, the Shevchenko’s family will have busy everyday life and bright holidays. And we wish our students happiness, health, prosperity and as many joyful moments as possible.
