Online Open Day

 Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has traditionally hosted the Online Open Day.

On July 10, 2020, our higher educational institution hospitably opened its online doors for applicants. Despite the quarantine measures, Open Day has traditionally been held online using the Zoom platform. During the meeting, the Rector, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, executive secretary of the Admission Committee, as well as deans and teachers of structural subdivisions were waiting for future applicants.

At the beginning, the Rector of LTSNU Serhii Savchenko addressed the audience with a welcoming speech: “Dear applicants! You should know that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which is now located in Starobilsk, is the oldest educational institution in the east of Ukraine. Next year, we will celebrate 100 years since the Foundation Day. During this time, the university has accumulated rich experience in academic and scientific work, scientific schools have been created, tens of thousands of our graduates have created a name for themselves and our institution of higher education, and have confirmed with their careers that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has the opportunity to provide modern European education. You can also pay attention to the ranking “Top 200 Ukraine”, where our university takes 52nd place, and among the universities of Luhansk region – 1st place. Therefore, I urge you to get acquainted with our university and make the right choice.”

During the online meeting, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Dmytro Uzhchenko and Executive Secretary of the Admission Committee Yaroslava Yurkiv acquainted the applicants with the features of the 2020 admission campaign and the procedure for entering the university. “On August 1, the admission campaign 2020 will begin at our university. If you enroll in specialties where creative contests are required, then from July 20 to August 1, you need to register on our website to submit creative contests. From August 1 to August 22, you will create electronic cabinets. A link for registration and a schedule of entrance tests will be posted on our university’s website,” Yaroslava Yurkiv said.

Future students and their parents, in turn, actively asked questions regarding the timing for documents submission, the schedule of entrance exams, the number of budget places, the placement of structural subdivisions. The applicants were also interested in the features of entering the magistracy, calculating the entrance test coefficient and the certificate of the university. Full-fledged answers about living in dormitories were provided by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Babichev.
