Congratulations on the thesis defense

The Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology congratulates Viktoria Stepanenko and her scientific adviser Olena Karaman on the defense of her doctoral dissertation.

Improving the quality of personnel is one of the priority areas of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology. In 2014-2015 the institute suffered significant losses: 7 doctors of sciences and 6 candidates of sciences left the university and went to work in other Ukrainian universities. 

Thanks to the revitalization of the work of scientists of the institute and the restoration of the work of specialized councils during 2014-2020 the institute’s professors defended 1 doctoral dissertation at the Department of Philological Disciplines (V.V. Kizilova) and 10 Ph.D. dissertations: 4 at the Department of Preschool and Primary Education (M.A. Yepikhina, O.O. Kravchishina, S.M. Bezborodykh, O. M. Dudnyk), 2 – at the Department of Social Pedagogy (V.I. Stepanenko, N.A. Lytvynova), 2 – at the Department of Pedagogy (V.P. Moroz, I.P. Shama), 1 – at the Department of Psychology (O.M. Tovstukha), 1 – at the Department of Philological Disciplines (O.V. Slobodian). The scientific advisers were Prof. Serhii Savchenko, Serhii Kharchenko, Olena Karaman; Assoc. N.I. Cherviakova, L.L. Butenko. 

July 1, 2020 at the meeting of the Speaicalized Academic Council D 29.053.01 on the defense of doctoral (candidate) dissertations in pedagogy at the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, under the chairmanship of the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, University Rector Serhii Savchenko, the degree of doctor of pedagogical sciences was awarded to the Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy Viktoria Stepanenko.

The scientific consultant of the thesis was Olena Karaman, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.

The topic of the dissertation research by Viktoria Stepanenko was “Theory and practice of the prevention of behavioral deviations of gifted students in institutions of general secondary education” aroused keen interest among the members and opponents. The high level of preparation of dissertations and authority in Ukraine of the Luhansk Scientific School, in particular the school of Serhii Kharchenko, established at the Department of Social Pedagogy in the middle of the 2000s, which now has more than 20 doctors and about 70 candidates of science – students of Serhii Yakovlevych, among which are Olena Karaman and Viktoria Stepanenko, was noted. 

The Defenseby V. Stepanenko opened a new five-year stage of development of the institute in conditions of displacement. We wish that such a start would open up new prospects for the development of the institute and strengthen its authority in Ukraine.

We wish Viktoria Stepanenko and her scientific adviser Olena Karaman to constantly move forward, win, strengthen the staff of the institute, increase its image, preserving and relying on the achievements and traditions of previous generations and creating a solid foundation for the future of the institute!
