Conference of the labor collective of the IPP

On June 18, a conference of the labor collective was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.
The event included the report of Olena Karaman as director of the institute from February 01, 2015 to June 30,2020 and the Institute’s Further Development Program.
The leadership of the university was invited to the conference: the Acting Rector Serhii Savchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Dmytro Uzhchenko, Oleksandr Babichev, Oleksandr Meniailenko, chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz.
The structure of Olena Karaman’s report was constituted by the main directions of the institute’s activity for 5 years: 1. Personnel support of the educational process. 2. The formation of the contingent. 3. Ensuring the quality of education. 4. Research work. 5. International activities. 6. Social and humanitarian work.
Staffing of the educational process and improving the quality of staff has become a leading area of work of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology. During the reporting period, teachers defended 1 doctoral and 10 master’s theses.
As of June 30, 2020, the staff potential of the Institute is 69 full-time employees, of which 5 are doctors of sciences (7%), 50 candidates of sciences (72%), 14 – without a degree (20%). That is, the quality of the staff is 80%, which corresponds to the licensing conditions for the implementation of educational activities.
Contingent formation and advertising and career guidance.
Thanks to the systematic, planned and team advertising and career guidance work at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, an annual increase of the number of students observed, which as of 01.10.2020 amounted to 1821 people. Such a contingent allows the IPP to compete with similar structures in the leading higher educational institutions of Ukraine. A significant part of the contingent (over 5 years – almost 700 people) are military students, combatants.
Ensuring the quality of education.
During 2015-2020 in all specialties and educational levels, educational programs and curricula were approved or updated in accordance with the new state standards of higher education. In the specialties “Preschool Education”, “Primary Education”, “Special Education” in 2016 accreditation was passed and the validity of the certificate of accreditation was extended until 2026. The development of educational programs, as well as the teaching of educational components, involves employers and graduates.
A striking indicator of the quality of education at the ER IPP was the results of the final certification of 629 graduates: success rate – 100%, quality – 89.3%. 54 graduates received honors diplomas.
Over 30 students during the reporting period received scholarships from the President, Verkhovna Rada, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Research work.
Research work at the departments of the ER IPP during 2015-2020 was carried out within 5 comprehensive research, 3 basic research for the state budget of Ukraine, 4 research centers and laboratories.
During 2015-2020 26 scientific and practical conferences of various levels were organized and conducted; there were published more than 700 scientific and methodological works, including 17 monographs, 30 teaching aids; Over 40 issues of scientific journals and collections have been issued.
A progressive phenomenon was also the appearance of publications in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science and publications in monographs in the EU languages.
Postgraduate and doctoral studies were opened in the specialties 011 Education Sciences, 015 Vocational Education (in the field of), 231 Social Work. Now 30 people study at postgraduate and doctoral programs, 4 of them are postgraduate students from the People’s Republic of China; specialized scientific councils for the defense of doctoral (master’s theses) were restored. Under the guidance of scientists of the IPP, 8 doctoral and 25 master’s theses were defended.
The results of the scientific work of students of the IPP for five years are more than 1300 scientific publications, 28 student national and regional scientific and practical conferences; participation in 8 international and 14 all-Ukrainian conferences in other ZVO; publication of 15 collections of student works; 6 winners (1st place) and 13 prize-winners (2-3 places) of the II stage of the All-Ukrainian competitions of student research papers and student olympiads.
International activity.
During 2015-2020 teachers of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology participated in 14 international projects; concluded 2 cooperation agreements with foreign universities: Rzeszow University (Republic of Poland) and the Baltic International Academy (Latvia); won 3 grants for the equipment of a hostel, Coworking Center, office of the New Ukrainian School.
Social and humanitarian work was carried out in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan for the social and humanitarian work of the ER IPP for the current year.
Among the main achievements was the creation of effective student self-government, participation in various student forums, the exchange of experience with students of other universities, etc. The experience of the ER IPP with student military personnel of the NAPN of Ukraine was recognized as one that has no analogues in Ukraine.
The institute created the Trizub volunteer squad and the Vivien Dance Ensemble.
The plans of the the Institute’s team include continuous development, achieving high results and strengthening leadership positions.
Representatives of the administration took part in the discussion of the report. After the approval of the report the Acting Rector Serhii Savchenko proposed the candidacy of Olena Karaman for the post of director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology for a new term.
The labor conference supported this proposal unanimously.
Olena Leonidovna expressed gratitude to the whole team for their trust and promised to proudly bear the name of the institute, preserving traditions and introducing innovations, glorifying the institute with new achievements and victories.
