Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports took the third place in the Ukrainian Handball Championship.

The Ukrainian Men’s Handball Championship (Super League) has ended. For the first time in its history, students of our university took the third place and received bronze medals. These are students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports: Marat Sahdieiev, Denis Nikulichev, Kyrylo Smelkov, Ihor Odinokov, Danilo Plahotin, Danilo Osadchii, Oleksii Novikov and Artem Popovich.

One of the team’s trainers is Oleh Leontiev, senior lecturer of the Department of Sports Disciplines. According to the Unified Sports Classification of Ukraine, our students will be awarded the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine. Recall that in 2019, as part of the university team, they took 2nd place in the Ukrainian Handball Championship among students. Handball players dedicate their victories to the 100th anniversary of their native Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Congratulations to our students and their trainers on this high achievement! We wish them to continue to successfully represent our university at the All-Ukrainian and international competitions.
