Final certification and defense of works

The Department of Journalism and Publishing conducted the final certification and defense of bachelor’s works on the platform “Microsoft Teams”.

During May 19-21, 2020, the Department of Journalism and Publishing conducted the state final certification for full-time and part-time students majoring in 061 “Journalism”. 

This distance defense was carried out on a modern platform “Microsoft Teams”, where they were at the same time and saw each other: students, chairman, commission members, examiners, secretary. Students during the performance could download and leaf through their creative projects online and, most importantly, all participants saw and heard it. It was very important for students because they had the opportunity to feel the whole atmosphere of defense.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Chairman of the Examination Commission O.L. Kravchenko, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism of the East Ukrainian Volodymyr Dahl National University and Artem Halych – Head of the Department.

The examination committee included Dmytro Uzhchenko – Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Anna Stas – deputy dean for academic affairs of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications. Examiners were Artem Halych – Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Journalism and Publishing, Kateryna Ulianova – PhD in Social Communications, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Publishing. The secretary was Oleg Chernysh – Assistant at the Department of Journalism and Publishing.

Among the presented projects were magazine publications on sports, art, popular science topics. The attention of the commission members was also presented to the author’s television programs, radio programs of graduates who already have experience in the field of social communications.

Thanks to the leadership of our higher education institution for the opportunity to conduct this final certification and defense in such a remote format, for support and assistance in creating accounts.
