Challenge of the natural scientists

The Faculty of Natural Sciences conducted a challenge #вишиванкаеднае_карантин devoted to the World Vyshyvanka Day.

World Vyshyvanka Day is an international holiday, which is designed to preserve the original folk traditions of creating and wearing ethnic embroidered Ukrainian clothes. This holiday of unity and family comfort. Ukrainian embroidered shirt is a family amulet that gives strength to the native land, a symbol of unity, solidarity and support.

According to the tradition of our native Alma Mater, on this day the whole team always wears embroidered shirts and celebrates this holiday in the family university circle. The 2020 pandemic made significant adjustments to our lives and made us look for new forms of holding traditional events. In many matters, our life has moved into virtual space.

Representatives of the student government of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, in order to continue the university tradition in such difficult times, proposed their own format for celebrating World Vyshyvanka Day – they invited everyone to participate in the Facebook challenge. Everyone could place their video and photo transformation into embroidered shirts. Challenge was joined by our friends from all over our large country and even those who are outside its borders. Many participants shot incredibly warm, sincere family videos, which is symbolic, because 2020 Vyshyvanka Day is dedicated to the Ukrainian family and pedigree.

We sincerely thank everyone who participated in the challenge! Thank you for sharing with us your love for Ukrainian traditions in colorful and vibrant presentations. We hope that this format of the event will become traditional. See you next year!
