Celebrating Europe Day at the Faculty of Foreign Languages
18.5.2020
The quarantine made adjustments to the celebration of Europe Day at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Despite the restrictions, lecturers and students of the faculty actively joined the holiday and celebrated this day in an unusual format!
All events have covered on official pages on social networks Facebook and Instagram.
Celebrating Europe Day at the Faculty of Foreign Languages has taken place in several stages.
There was organized a quest for national costumes of the peoples of Europe in the Instagram social network for subscribers. National costume is the genetic code of a country. Each nation has a different tradition of creating a national costume. So, we decided to introduce our subscribers to the very «genetic code» of the European nationalities.
Students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages created a video in which they spoke in English, German, French and Spanish about how to celebrate Europe Day in various European countries. Thus, Europe Day is celebrated in various forms in most states: they hold educational events on the European Union, emphasize the role of the Council of Europe in protecting human rights, the flag plays an important role in general celebrations as another symbol.
Also, students of the faculty created a video-greeting in European languages, in particular: Ukrainian, Polish, Finnish, Portuguese, Latvian, Czech, Slovak, Italian, Croatian, French, Greek, English, Estonian, Danish, Bulgarian, Dutch, Romanian, Spanish, German, etc.
Students of the faculty prepared and published in the social network Instagram information about the city Sarla – a very old French town where time just stopped at the Renaissance. The whole city is literally an open-air museum. Sarla is among the 15 most interesting cities in France.
Our students are very active, so they joined the online-quiz «Guess the EU country» as part of the celebration of Europe Day from the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.
It was very pleasant that day to receive video congratulations and words of gratitude from graduates of past years. All of them are successful people who now live and work abroad, in particular, in Spain, Qatar, Turkey, China, etc.
So, Europe Day is an extremely important holiday for the family of the faculty of foreign languages. It unites all of us, encourages the study of foreign languages, promotes European integration! Join our friendly community!
