Admission to the Preparatory Courses

The admission for preparatory courses at LNU started on September 1. Now the groups have being formed.
Pre-professional education at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University dates back to 1923 when so-called working faculty was created. It was the preparatory department for the workers and agricultural people. The Faculty of Pre-professional Education was founded on June 22, 1992.
There are some changes in the faculty’s structure and new working directions since this academic year. So, a department Small University was created to work with the pupils of secondary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, vocational schools and the final-years students of the educational establishments of I – II accreditation levels.
Small University has already announced the admission to the foreign language courses for 1 – 11 grade pupils. Also there is provided work with preschool children in the groups of “Forwardness of Children”, “Preparation to School” and logopedic treatment.
“In addition, the faculty has organized the occupational guidance courses for 8 – 11 grades pupils and professionally oriented youth. There areclasses of massage, haircutting, graphic design, photo, booking tourism services, drafting a business-plan and so on”, – noted Nataliia Yuriivna Matsai, the head of pre-professional preparation.
Traditionally, the main faculty’s direction is preparatory department. It is aimed to prepare future applicants for external independent evaluation. Our courses are licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (the license as of 16.06.2014 АЕ № 450269).
“Basic Training Courses” last 7 months (from October 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016). “Intensive Preparatory Courses” starts on February 1, 2016 and last 3 months.
The preparation is performed in the disciplines required for testing within external independent evaluation and in the disciplines necessary for creative exams in some training directions:
- Ukrainian Language and Literature
- History of Ukraine
- Mathematics
- Biology
- Geography
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Foreign Languages
- Creativity Competitions (design, journalism, etc.)
The training is performed by the best teachers of the university. Author’s training programs and tests are made in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian center of assessment of education quality.
“The courses will allow the intended applicants to systematize and deepen knowledge, get into content of test tasks in each discipline, investigate working practices and rules during external independent evaluation (ZNO), orient themselves in profession”, – added Nataliia Yuriivna.
The applicants who complete our preparatory courses get certificates and additional grades to natural and mathematical and engineering and technical directions of training while entering Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
