World Day for Safety and Health at Work

On April 28, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joins the celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Every year on April 28, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 18, 2006, World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated in our country. For the first time, the celebration took place in 2003, but back in 1989, American and Canadian workers celebrated Memorial Day in honor of those killed in the workplace. After that, similar events were organized around the world. Over time, this day united everyone who seeks to make a person’s work safer for his health and life. Official events dedicated to this holiday are usually attended by the leaders of large companies, industrial giants, public organizations, etc.

This year, the International Labor Organization has defined the motto of the Labor Protection Day – “Stop the Pandemic: Safety and Health at Work Can Save Lives”.

We urge everyone to join the celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work and to provide a broad information campaign to protect and preserve the life and health of workers.

During this difficult time, take care of yourself and do not ignore the preventive measures related to the fight against the Covid-19 virus infection: stay at home, wash your hands, wear a mask, ventilate and disinfect rooms and surfaces. Be healthy!
