Powerlifting World Championship

Powerlifting World Championship has been conducted in Czech Republic recently. LNU sportsman has taken part in it.

The competitions were held among the juniors (outfitting division) in Prague from August 31 to September 6. Sportsmen from 19 countries worldwide participated in the Championship. National team of Ukraine took III place in junior placing.

The third-year student of speciality “Sports” of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Master of Sports of Ukraine in Powerlifting Danylo Kovalov was fighting for the victory as a part of national junior team of Ukraine.

In the weight category up to 105 kg Danylo won a gold medal in squats – 360 kg. His result in bench press was 240 kg (5 place) and in barbell row – 287.5 kg (6 place). Despite the fact that the total sum of 887.5 kg brought him just 4 place, the sportsman performed a normative for world-class Master of Sports of Ukraine in Powerlifting.
