Studying during quarantine

The Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts boldly continues to study during quarantine.

To ensure the educational process, combined technologies are used: work on the educational portal video conferencing services – Zoom, Skype, Hangouts, social networks and instant messengers. In particular, the latter help to ensure the convenience of communication between students and teachers and to quickly receive the necessary explanations or task updates.

Students work on theoretical and general educational disciplines on the university’s educational portal in accordance with the approved schedule.

The specifics of the specialties of the Institute of Culture and Arts provides for a lot of collective work and individual lessons for teachers with students, which cannot be done using the resources of the educational portal, and therefore means of video communication with teachers help.

Teachers and curators also regularly conduct various flash mobs and challenges with students aimed at supporting corporate culture, a sense of involvement in a common cause and for developing their own creativity.

In particular, students majoring in “Audiovisual Art and Production” shoot small humorous videos about life during quarantine (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVZTwaTb4bPTclmJHq7TRaA), write informational messages about the distribution of COVID-19 and the dangers associated with this are working with the telegram bot ,, Art wants to get acquaintedˮ (Postmen together with the Ukrainian Cultural Fund launched the project”Art wants to get acquainted.” Its goal is to increase the interest of Ukrainians in the culture and art of Ukraine).

Students majoring in Musical Art organize online jam sessions, and choreographers even created a separate page on the Instagram network (see the link @lnu_choreography), actively fill in their own content, dancing at home according to the program of their teacher Olga Osipenko.

The Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts regularly holds video conferences with its students, during which they provide advice on performing creative works, watch bachelor’s practical works, and discuss the contents of their explanatory notes with bachelor students.

Separately, it is worth to highlight the classes of the psychological support group aimed at developing awareness and self-analysis skills that are held with those who wish using the Zoom service 1-2 times a week. This not only helps students improve their personal characteristics and engage in self-knowledge, but also helps to establish a common psychological state: quarantine has become for many a real test from a socio-psychological point of view.

So, the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts has successfully adapted to new conditions and invites to review its creative quarantine experiments on Instagram and Facebook.

The students and teaching staff of the institute is actively working in the new conditions and hopes to meet soon in more familiar circumstances.
