Blessed memory

The student and teaching staff of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University expresses deep sorrow at the death of Viktor Skvyrskyi.

On April 9, 2020, Viktor Skvyrskyi, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Excellent Educator of Ukraine died. 

Viktor Davydovych was born on 06.06.1946 in the city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv region. In 1970, he graduated from the Voroshilovgrad Engineering Institute and received a diploma with honors in the specialty “Automation of Production Processes in Mechanical Engineering” with the qualification of a mechanical engineer. After serving in the army, he worked from 1971 to 1984 at the Luhansk Engineering Institute as a junior researcher in the research sector of the Department of General and Theoretical Electrical Engineering, a senior researcher in the same department, a design engineer of the 1st category, and then as a head of the sector in SKTB “Iskra” at Lugansk Engineering Institute.

In 1983, Viktor Davydovych defended his thesis, Research and Development of Algorithms for Automatic Control of the Process of Roughing of Parts on Heavy Lathesˮ specialty 05.13.07 – ,, Automatic control and regulation. Automatic control of technological processesˮ and in 1989 received the title of Associate Professor. Since September 1984, he worked at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University as a senior lecturer at the Department of Physics, Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics, and since 2009, he was the head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Informatics.

Viktor Skvyrskyi was a model of a bright and talented personality, an experienced researcher and specialist, an excellent teacher, a man who was always in a creative search and did not stop there. He is the author of more than 70 scientific and methodological works, including 12 inventions.

Viktor Davydovych was remembered by those who knew him as an energetic, experienced, hardworking, fair person. In his work, the scientist generously shared his experience with colleagues, knowledge with students, helped people, he was always open and friendly. We bow low before his departure to eternity.
