A student of the ER IHIRSPS Anastasia Sykalo won a prize at the All-Ukrainian Scientific Competition of Research Papers.
Active student science is one of the long-standing traditions of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences. Students of the Institute repeatedly became participants and winners of various scientific events of the all-Ukrainian level, in particular, regularly won prizes at the annual competition of student research papers. This year, despite being in evacuation and quarantine, it was possible to restore this glorious tradition.
The second-year student majoring in Secondary Education (History) Anastasia Sykalo became a successful debutante of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Research Papers on history, which was held on the basis of the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian Pedagogical University (Kropyvnytskyi). Under the scientific supervision of Olha Zabudkova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, senior lecturer of the Department of History of Ukraine, the contestant prepared a scientific paper on the topic “Charitable Activities of the Alchevsky Family (late XIX – early XX centuries)”, which has undoubted scientific and social relevance. According to the results of the contest, Anastasia became one of the winners and took the III place.
Let’s note that this success was the result of the previous vigorous activity of the contestant. During the first year of study Anastasia repeatedly made scientific reports at practical classes and Days of Science. In April 2019, she took an active part in the work of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Luhansk Region: Local History Intelligence” (Starobilsk city), where she made a presentation on the history of one of the architectural and spiritual pearls of the Luhansk region – the Osinov Church.
February 20, 2020 Anastasia made a presentation on the topic of competitive scientific work at the II All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference for young scientists, postgraduate students and students “History of Ukraine in the Regional and Global Dimensions”, which was held by Donetsk State University of Management (Mariupol). Thus, a successful testing of her research was carried out.
We also note the active participation of Anastasia in archaeological research of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. She participated in the work of the Luhansk Archaeological Detachment in Starobilsk city (June 2019), Olvia (August 2019), as well as in the study of the anthropomorphic stele found in the village of Belokurakino in the fall of 2019.
