Distance learning during quarantine
7.4.2020
The Faculty of Natural Sciences continues the educational process.
During quarantine students are studying at the faculty in accordance with the weekly schedule using distance technology on the university’s educational portal.
Teachers constantly add updated assignments for students, so the educational process does not stop. Students on time post the completed tasks, and teachers, in turn, check on time. If questions arise during the assimilation of new educational material, students can contact the teacher and get an exhaustive answer.
Students are responsible for studying, so they devote a lot of time to doing practical and laboratory exercises.
Master’s students also do not stand aside. They not only study on the educational portal, but also conduct experiments for their master’s work.
In addition to classes on the educational portal, students have the opportunity to learn new knowledge via Skype. So, students in online mode communicate with teachers who give them lectures and tell how to perform tasks on the educational portal.
Traditionally, in April, the Days of Science are held, in which the Faculty of Natural Sciences also takes part. This year they will be held on the educational portal. Sections have already been formed in the respective departments. Everyone can send their reports on relevant topics.
In addition to educational activities at the faculty, cultural work did not stop. All results and congratulations are published on the official page of the faculty on Facebook, which you can see at https://www.facebook.com/groups/fpnlnu/.
During the quarantine period, a contest was held remotely “Through the Eyes of a Naturalist”, dedicated to the anniversary of the FNS, in which the students and teaching staff posted photos that corresponded to its subject. The results of the competition were announced on April 3, and the winners will be awarded after quarantine.
On March 26, the Faculty of Natural Sciences celebrated its anniversary. Students, teachers, graduates actively greeted their native faculty, exhibited video and photo greetings, thanked them for their continued support, and said that they had become part of a large faculty family.
On April 6, the faculty launched a distance contest “Miss and Mr. Faculty of Natural Sciences”, in which representatives from each specialty took part. The contestants had to upload 5 of their photos and shoot a video business card in which they talked about themselves, their profession and hobby. On April 13, a competent jury will summarize the competition.
Despite quarantine, students and teaching staff continue to engage in career guidance. So, students, teachers, employees actively disseminate information on social networks.
So, life at the Faculty of Natural Sciences during quarantine boils. Distance learning, contests, constant communication with teachers and students helps a friendly family to overcome a bad mood and depression.
Together, we will overcome our invisible enemy. Be healthy!
