Participation in the Championship

Students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports successfully performed at the Ukrainian Championship in Greco-Roman Wrestling.
March 12-14, the city of Kharkiv hosted the Ukrainian U-20 Championship in Greco-Roman Wrestling. It was qualifying for the European Championship.
Students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports successfully performed in the competition: in the weight category of 130 kg Sviatoslav Kalashnikov won the silver medal (2nd year, specialty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”), who lost to the athlete from Kharkiv in the final, and Artem Podakin (2nd year, specialty “Physical Culture and Sports”. Sports”) took the 3rd place in the weight category of 82 kg.
According to the results of the competition, Sviatoslav and Artem are included in the national team of Ukraine to prepare for participation in the European Championship, which will be held in June 2020.
Also the participants of the Championships were Mykyta Politaev (1st year, specilaty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”), who took the 5th place in the weight category of 72 kg; Stanislav Maltsev (2nd year, specialty “SO. Physical Education”) took the 7th place in the weight category of 77 kg; Mykyta Pervomaiskyi (3rd year, specialty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”) took the 7th place in the weight category of 67 kg and Leonid Shestopalov (1st year, specialty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”) took the 8th place in the weight category of 72 kg.
The athletes were coached by the graduate of our higher educational institution Serhii Korotkykh.
