Open the Library
19.2.2020
On February 18, an inspection of contemporary Ukrainian art literature took place in the university library as part of an action from the Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library “Open the Library”, which was held on the joint initiative of both libraries.
At the beginning of the event, the employees of the Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library told how they started this action. According to them, it all started with trips to the city park with books. The main goal of this project was not only to attract people to reading, but also to bring them closer to the book. The action was successful and trips began to occur more often, and people were more and more drawn to books.
During the inspection, books of such literary genres as poetry and prose, stories, comics, modern children’s literature, and books on modern literary criticism were presented. Natalia, an employee of the Library spoke about the books of Yurii Andrukhovych, Oksana Zabuzhko, Yurii Izdrik, Ivan Andrusiak, Evgen Kononenko, Olha Voitenko and other no less famous writers.
The idea of this event has existed for a long time, so the action was transformed to the specifics of our university. Thematic reviews were selected that had a professional focus on the educational activities of the university.
The director of the university library Maria Pochinkova says, “Today we invited everyone to join the book review, however, we invited students of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Coomunications, Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, College of LTSNU, specialties “Primary Education”, and “Preschool Education”, that is, those people who professionally work with modern Ukrainian fiction. We are planning a number of such thematic reviews and hope that they will become traditional. Next month, an inspection of modern foreign literature and comics is plannedˮ.
In the end, everyone had the opportunity to get acquainted with books closer and see, hold in their hands and immediately take them to read.
