Another victory

Teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports took part in the Open Regional Team Table Tennis Tournament.

On February 9, in the sports complex “Olimp” in Kreminna city, the 6th round of the Open Team Regional Table Tennis Tournament of the Federation of Kremenskyi district  took place. The competition was attended by 29 teams from the eastern region of Ukraine. And again, the strongest became the players of the team of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of our University!

Having not experienced a single defeat in the group stage, our team confidently reached the final from first place. In the final meetings, our team competed with experienced players of the teams “Olimp” (Liman city), “Barkhat” (Kramatorsk city) and “Tisa” (Severodonetsk city). Although the final was not easy for our players, but still youth won the experience, and the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports celebrates the victory!

Our team consisted of Pavlo Hordienko – Deputy Director; Evgen Kozhemiakin – master’s student majoring in “Physical Education and Sports”; Oleksandr Minin – 3rd year student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”.

For three rounds before the end of the tournament, the university team occupies a common third place.

One should note that Oleksandr Minin with his students (Veronika Matiunina and Sonia Sheredoga) after winning the Ukrainian Championships got the right to participate in the European Championships in the Czech Republic.
