Open Futsal Cup

The football team of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports participated in the Open Futsal Cup of the district.

This weekend in sports complex “Olimp” (the city of Kreminna), the Open Futsal Cup of the district was held among the teams of institutions, organizations, physical education teams.

In total, 12 teams from Novoaidarskyi, Kremensky districts and the city of Rubizhne took part in the competitions. Among the participants was also a team of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

According to the rules of the competition, the teams were divided into 4 subgroups in which they played in a circle. Our team confidently overcame the teams of Novoaidar (9: 2) and the team of the Medical School (7: 3). Having taken the first place in the group, our team reached the quarter finals. Further on the tournament path, the players of the IPES met with the team “Chervonopopovka”, which they overcame with a score of 4:1 and received a ticket to the semifinals. At the next stage of the competition, our players played against the team “Druzhba” and won with the score of 5: 0 in favor of our team. In the fight for first place, our players met with experienced rivals – a team of veterans of the city of Rubizhne (veterans have one more field player).

The final match, as expected, turned out to be much more intense and gave the fans a lot of sharp and bright moments, beautiful feints of players and goalkeepers saves. Therefore, the final whistle of the referee recorded the score 3:3. The fate of the Cup was decided by penalty shootouts. Here our goalkeeper Oleksandr Blokhin was also the best, who saved four penalties out of five!

The team of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports consisted of Maksym Kovalov (teacher of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports), Anton Kashtan, Bohdan Ochkasov, Artem Kuchereshko, Sviatoslav Bogovyi, Yurii Pleshakov, Vladyslav Kaliuzhnyi (students of the ER IPES), Yaroslav Semyvolos – master’s student majoring in “Physical Education and Sports. Sportsˮ, which was recognized as the best player of the tournament.

During the award ceremony, the team was congratulated by the director of the institute Yurii Poluliashenko, who presented the prize-winning teams with memorable calendars with the symbols of our institute. The winning team also received diplomas, medals and the Cup.
