Academic Council meeting

Today a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The agenda included two main issues:
- About the results of the university financial and economic activities in 2019;
- About the university scientific activities in 2019.
Having listened and discussed the report of the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Babichev on the results of the university financial and economic activities in 2019, the Academic Council noted that the financial and economic activities of the university were carried out at the expense of the state budget, both general and special funds.
The general fund of the state budget of the university amounted to 92 199.4 thousand UAH. The Academic Council noted that the priority areas of expenses were the payment of salaries and accruals, scholarships to postgraduate students and doctoral students, payment of utilities, expenses for the maintenance of orphans, purchase of materials, equipment, inventory, etc. for the maintenance of the university, travel expenses, the payment of academic scholarships and payment of other services (except utilities).
The Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Leonid Vakhovskyi made a report on the university scientific activities in 2019. Having heard and discussed the report, the Academic Council noted that in 2019, scientific activity was aimed at conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of natural and mathematical, social and humanitarian, technical, agricultural, psychological and pedagogical sciences, the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, the integration of research and educational activities.
The university has 15 scientific divisions, including 5 branches of institutes of the NAS of Ukraine, 2 research centers of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, 3 research laboratories, etc.
During 2019, the University continued to carry out 53 cathedral research projects, 2 fundamental research works (scientific advisers – A.V. Zhuchok, V.S. Kurylo) were funded from the General Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 1 research work (supervisor H. A. Mohylnyi) – due to the ERASMUS + grant.
405 full-time scientific and pedagogical workers were involved in research work, including 34 doctors of sciences, 197 candidates of sciences, 106 doctoral students and postgraduate students. 1720 young scientists and students were also involved in scientific research.
On the basis of the university 4 international, 22 all-Ukrainian and 15 regional conferences were held.
In 2019, university scientists received 9 patents for a utility model, 4 patents for an invention, 1 certificate of registration of copyright for labor. One application for a title of protection for a utility model was filed for registration.
According to the results of scientific research by university scientists, 927 scientific works were published, of which 5 were monographs, 209 articles in foreign journals, 115 of them were articles in journals with impact factor, including 24 in Scopus, 11 in WoS, in scientific professional publications – 411, textbooks (in particular electronic ones) – 36.
The Director of the ER IPP Olena Karaman took part in the discussion of this issue.
Among miscellaneous, intermediate annotated reports of scientific research, scientific research to be carried out at the expense of the state budget of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in 2020, topics of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy were approved, educational and methodical publications were recommended for publication.
The decision was made to apply to the Luhansk Regional State Administration – Regional Military Civil Administration, Department of Education and Science of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, Starobilsk District State Administration and Starobilsk District Council, Starobilsk City Council on rewarding teachers and staff on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the university.
Academic Council in accordance with Art. 27, p. 5, art. 53 of the Law of Ukraine “On Professional Higher Education” dated 06.06.2019 No. 2745-VIII, decided to change the type and names of structural subdivisions of the university from February 01, 2020:
- Separate subdivision “Lysychansk Pedagogical College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” to the Separate subdivision “Lysychansk Pedagogical Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”;
- Separate subdivision “Kadiivka Pedagogical College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” to the Separate subdivision “Kadiivka Pedagogical Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”;
- Separate subdivision “Brianka College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” to the Separate subdivision “Brianka Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”;
- Separate subdivision “Rubizhne Polytechnic College named after O. Ye. Porai-Koshytsia of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” to the Separate subdivision “Rubizhne Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”;
- Separate subdivision “Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” to the Separate subdivision “Starobilsk Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”;
- College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University to the Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
