European Men’s Handball Championship
14.1.2020
Graduates of our University take part in the European Men’s Handball Championship.
The European Men’s Handball Championship started on January 9 and will last until the 26th in three countries – Austria, Norway and Sweden. Games are being held in Austria these days.
The Ukrainian national team also takes part in the tournament among 24 teams. Our handball players play in group B together with the teams of the Czech Republic, Northern Macedonia and Austria. It is pleasant that ex-players of the “Burevestnik” Luhansk team and graduates of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, namely goalkeeper Anton Terekhov and field player Evgen Zhuk, are members of the national team of Ukraine.
It should be noted that the last time the Ukrainian men’s team participated in the final stage of the European Handball Championship ten years ago, and our best achievement is the eleventh place in 2002.
We are proud of our graduates and the sports achievements of our athletes. We wish them only victories! By the way, today, January 14, our team will play against the Czech team. Therefore, we wish them success and hope that victory will be ours!
