Luhansk League of Laughter at LTSNU

On December 24, the University hosted the finals of the 1st season of the Luhansk League of Laughter of LTSNU.

This is not the first time our University has hosted this game. So, such well-known throughout the country teams of LTSNU as “Voroshilovskie strelki”, “100%” performed at humor festivals. After a forced evacuation to the Starobilsk city, the game was suspended for some time. But soon it was decided to resume this tradition, because the League of Laughter is a great opportunity for our students to show their acting abilities and creative humor.

The first season began with a festival in which 9 teams took part: the team “Gogol Square 1” (Faculty of Ukranian Philology and Social Communication), the team “Three and a Half Gnomes” (College of LTSNU), the team “Tarasov’s Children” (Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology), the team “Cupcakes aren’t the same anymore” (Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College),  “A sho Why not?” (Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences), “Grandma’s sideboard” (Institute of Economy and Business), “5th floor, only the stars above” (Faculty of Natural Sciences),  “8 frames” (Institute of Physical Education and Sports) and the team “Hooligans and princesses” (Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism).

After the festival, 5 teams out of 9 participated in the qualifying game, namely “Gogol Square 1”, “A sho why not?”,  “Tarasov’s children”, “Grandma’s sideboard”, “5th floor, only the stars above”. Unfortunately, the team, “Tarasov’s children” had to leave the game one step to the semifinals. In the course of a sprightly, cheerful and creative semifinal, the team of the IEB “Grandma’s sideboard” dropped out.

And then was the most crucial stage of the season – the final of the 1st season of the Luhansk League of Laugh of LTSNU!

This holiday was held with the support of the Chairman of the Academic Council of the University Vitalii Kurylo and the Primary Trade Union Organization in the Starobilsk District House of Culture named after Taras Shevchenko.

The final theme for the final was “Time Machine”. And the main tasks for the teams were to demonstrate their acting skills in two competitions: “canvas” and STEM about time travel.

At the beginning of the season, each team was headed by a wise mentor – a coach, who, in fact, brought the wards to the finals. So, the team of the Faculty of Natural Sciences “5th floor, only the stars above” worked together with Svitlana Bezborodykh; the team of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications “Gogol Square 1” trained with Oleksandr Savchenko and the team of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences worked with Volodymyr Moroz.

The jury that evaluated the finalists on this day included: the chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization of LTSNU Volodymyr Moroz, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Leonid Vakhovskyi, the chairman of the Luhansk Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine Serhii Sevriuk, Oleksandr Savchenko and Svitlana Bezborodykh.

The teams were thrilled, but not bewildered. They were supported by their groupmates and teachers of their subdivision. Multi-colored posters, balloons, flags of faculties fluttered over the heads of the audience and, of course, added excitement to the teams. A joint song at the beginning of the game united all the participants, and the performances of the teams “Cupcakes are not the same” and “Grandma’s sideboard” from the first minutes cheered up the jury and the audience.

So, each team prepared 2 bright performances. So, in the first contest, the team of FUPSC traveled time from Neanderthals to World War II; FNS staged a battle between centuries, and IHIRSPS came to visit Newton and Dmytro Gordon. In STEMs, teams beat interesting everyday situations, for example, a team “5th floor, only stars above” looked for where to celebrate the New Year; the team “Gogol Square 1” sang songs on behalf of the presidents and the team “A sho why not?” decided who will be the director of their institute.

After the performances of all the teams came the most emotional part – the announcement of the winner. The jury was very difficult to choose a champion, because all the finalists showed a good game.

During the award ceremony, Vitalii Kurylo, chairman of the Academic Council, addressed the teams and noted that he was delighted with the event and the training of the teams, and emphasized that the teams had become real professionals and connoisseurs of humor.

Rector of LTSNU Serhii Savchenko noted that he did not even expect to see such bright performances and reincarnations, and thanked the mentors for helping the teams grow to such a level!

So, according to the results, the team of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences turned out to be the best and the most creative, and received the Luhansk League of Laugh Cup!

Congratulations to the winners and finalists of the 1st season of the League of Laughter. We wish you to smile even more and give smiles to others. And we, the audience, are looking forward to the second season of the League of Laughter, which will start in the spring!
