“Ecological New Year Tree”

The Faculty of Natural Sciences has been organizing and conducting a competition-exhibition “Ecological New Year Tree” for the fourth year in a row.

This year, students from almost all educational departments joined the exhibition.

New Year is a magical holiday, the main attribute of which is a New Year tree. Almost every family has a wonderful family tradition of decorating it. Many families adorn living trees. But few people think what will happen to it after the holiday …

People need 10-15 years to grow a New Year tree. Every year, for the celebration in Ukraine, tens of thousands of forest beauties are cut down, which leads to a violation of the ecological balance in nature. Therefore, starting in 2007, the idea of using artificial New Year trees is spreading annually in Ukraine at the initiative of the active part of society.

Currently, the handmade New Year trees are especially popular. Our University joined joined the new trend of making handmade New Year trees.

Students of various structural subdivisions prepared New Year trees and products from various materials, but the main condition was one – it was environmentally friendly. So, New Year trees were presented from cardboard, coins, plastic spoons, candies, napkins, newspapers, edible and knitted.

In addition, workshops for the production of such jewelry were held for those present. So, everyone was taught to make New Year trees from burlap, cardboard, etc. We hope that the workshops will inspire everyone who attended the event to make their own special eco-tree.

At the end of the exhibition, the jury selected the winners and awarded them with diplomas in various nominations, including: “The most creative”, “The brightest”, “The most practical”, “The sweetest”, “Designer find”, “Winter composition”, “Original idea ”and others.

According to the tradition that has developed at our Faculty, the trees will be handed over to our defenders for the New Year holidays.
