Anniversary of the Institute

On December 3, the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism celebrated the 12th anniversary. 

The history of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism began in 2007. Over the 12 years of its existence, it has become one of the most powerful structural subdivisions of the University. The Institute brought together specialists of different directions of serving the population in different spheres of life, namely commerce, food technology, transport, design and tourism. Now, the Institute continues to develop and gain fame among applicants.

The celebrations began with an exhibition in which each department of the Institute presented its achievements.

So, the Design Department presented its exhibits in the following areas: graphic design, environmental design and hairstyle and makeup design under the general name “Compositional Images of Postige Products”. The exhibits were made of natural and artificial hair, ribbons, plates and had a variety of shapes, for example, flashlights, masks. Also the Department presented paintings and portraits, which are made by a variety of techniques and copyright fonts.

The Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business shared with its attendees their photos from foreign practices and told those present about the possibility of practicing in Turkey, Bulgaria, Thailand. Female students demonstrated work suits OO “Leon” from Antalya. An animated hero in a hare costume also created a holiday atmosphere from the Department.

The Department of Commodity Research, Commercial Business and Goods Expertise presented the results of the development of scientists and applicants of the Department. Food products were developed for athletes, military personnel, and miners. Lyudmila Senogonova notes, “The Department received 28 patents. Today we also present conference materials and achievements of our students, videos showing the results of conferences, excursions, monographs and textbooks”.

The Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education presented its products. Students invited everyone present to try handmade goodies: cakes, cookies. In addition, here you could buy gingerbread cookies and paint them yourself with edible paints. Works of students of other specialties were also exhibited, for example, wood products made by students majoring in  Labor Training and Technology and handmade jewelry by students majoring in Technology of Light Industry Products. 

The celebration continued with a festive concert. At the beginning, all those present heard a video greeting from the Chairman of the Academic Council of the University Vitalii Kurylo.

The Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko addressed the audience with a congratulatory words, “12 years is not a long period of time. For 6 years you have been working in these difficult and unusual conditions for any educational institution, and despite everything, you gain new achievements and develop. All this testifies to your professionalism and dedication. I congratulate the Institute on its 12th anniversary and wish the teaching staff to success and new achievements!”

The team and Director of the Institute Viktor Drel congratulated, “Today, one “child” of a large family of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is 12 years old. It is difficult or hard to say whether this is much or not, but he has already begun to walk, understand and strive for the best. Congratulations, dear colleagues and students! ˮ. From the stage, the Director awarded students, teachers and staff with honorary diplomas for their tireless work and creative search.

The concert program was bright and full of concert performances. Students and teachers sincerely welcomed their native Institute with fiery songs and choreographic performances. Greetings and gratitude were expressed by students and graduates of the Institute. Video greetings were quite sincere, full of warm memories and congratulations.

The guests also came to congratulate the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism on the holiday, namely the folk vocal ensemble “Semperprimo” of the Regional House of Culture, the soloist of the Starobilsk Regional House of Culture named after Taras Shevchenko, student of the ER ICA Maryana Bondar, the choreographic collective “Dream”, students of the Center for Culture and Leisure of Luhansk State Medical University from the city of Rubizhne, etc. 

The highlight of the holiday was the bright debut of the costume theater. On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the ICSTT, Marina Tuka and Tetiana Kobyliatska created 12 unique costumes that are made in different styles: jute lace, ethnic and loin weaving, using the embroidery technique, using Sloboda and Petrakov paintings.

Students’ performances were fiery and cheerful. The songs that sounded in the auditorium raised the festive mood, and the choreographic performances proved that the youth of the Institute are full of strength and energy to glorify their Institute.
