Natalia Fedicheva, Head of the Department of Oriental Languages, took part in the Scientific and Practical Conference in the city of Sumy.
The Scientific and Practical Conference “The Introduction of Media Literacy into the Practice of Teaching English in the 21st Century” was held in Sumy city. The conference was attended by 75 caring professionals from all over Ukraine who are ready to take the path of positive changes in reforming the system of teaching a foreign language in universities and schools. Among them was the head of the Department of Oriental Languages Natalia Fedicheva. The event was held at the Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies, Sumy State University.
The main goal of the conference is the dissemination and popularization of the ideas of media education, the exchange of experience of media educators, the motivation for further work in the field of media education for the formation of media literacy of all participants in the educational process. The fruitful work at the sessions, communication with colleagues, discussion of ways to use media in the educational process have provided a number of promising and practical ideas for implementation in future work.
The development of media competencies of the conference participants was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of a team of professionals: event coordinators and speakers from Ukraine and the USA – Wendy Finlayson, Iryna Liashenko, Liudmyla Hnapovska, Oksana Torubara, Maryna Tsehelska, Francisco Resto, Ashly Emerson and Shaun Hicks. They impressed the participants of the conference with their enthusiasm, creativity and energy.
