Student initiation ceremony

On November 7, student initiation ceremony took place at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. 

This year, the friendly student family of the Faculty of Natural Sciences was replenished with talented young people who have to create the future of the country. The academic year for each freshman is full of difficulties and joyful impressions. But a special event for the entire student community is initiation into students. This day is one of the most joyful and most exciting both for young people and teachers.

In the initiation program, each group of freshmen presented their specialty, having prepared a short video and vocal and dance performance. During the presentation, students showed everyone that they are active, creative and inspired, thereby proving that they are a worthy addition to the faculty family. Senior students gave them gifts that were characteristic of each specialty.

The festive atmosphere of this event was also made by our talented senior students who presented a choreographic composition of the dance team “Greenstyle”, a wonderful song performed by our agronomists Alina Pupova and Mykola Patalakha, which recalled interesting moments of our faculty life and the fiery song by Anastasia Ponomarenko. Also, the participants in the faculty team of the Laughter League “5th Floor- Only Stars Above” did not stand aside and presented a sketch about the creation of the University.

The celebration was attended by a welcoming speech by the first Vice-Rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo, who wished freshmen creative inspiration and success in their studies.

Honored guests of the holiday were also representatives of the Administration, the Primary Trade Union Organization and structural subdivisions of the university.

Oleksandr Mironenko, deputy chairman of the student self-government at the university, also came to congratulate our freshmen, who presented each group with sky lanterns, which the students launched into the sky at the end of the holiday. 

Our first-year students have only been with us for 2 months, but many of them have already shown themselves as active and creative students. Therefore, the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Natalia Matzai awarded active freshmen with diplomas for active participation in the faculty life. 

The student’s oath is one of the most important attributes of initiation and therefore, during the oath, students vowed to become professionals in their field, to abide by the laws of student life, and to respect and glorify their native faculty.

And at the end of the holiday, Natalia Matsay, the keeper of our faculty congratulated students on the initiation and conveyed the light of unity between students, teachers and graduates. This tradition is new and was founded in 2014, when students in difficult times for the first time were able to get together for an exit session in Kreminna town and lit a small candle of unity with those who could not come …

The holiday ended with the performance of the anthem of the Faculty of Natural Sciences by the entire faculty family.
