Webometrics has Published an Updated Version of the World Ranking

Webometrics has published the ranking of world universities according to their web presence as on July 2015.

Webometrics Ranking of World’s Universities covers 12,000 universities and education institutions all over the world. 295 higher education establishments of Ukraine have taken their web-places as well.

According to the ranking, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has taken 40 position among the national universities, 559 – among the higher education institutions of Central and Eastern Europe and 1760 position in the European ranking. Also, our university has taken 4367 position in the continental ranking and 6962 – in the world one.

As a reminder, the international Webometrics Ranking started in 2004. It is produced by Cybermetrics Lab, a unit of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), which works under the Ministry of Science and Innovations of Spain. The ranking analyses not education activity but the presence of the university on the Web. It is published twice a year.

There is the number of external links, the number of indexed pages and citation index among the criterions for analysis. Website design and its traffic are not taken into consideration.
