Live and Work in Ukraine

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took part in the regional presentation forum “Live and Work in Ukraine”.
On October 16, in the Severodonetsk Ice Sports Palace, as part of the UN Program for the Restoration and Development of Peace in the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, the regional presentation forum “Live and Work in Ukraine” was held.
The event was held to inform the public, pupils and students about the work of vocational and higher education institutions of the Luhansk region in training skilled workers and specialists in professions and specialties, creating a positive image of the Luhansk region.
The event was attended by 43 educational institutions, including 19 vocational education institutions, 18 higher education institutions of II-IV accreditation levels, 3 institutions providing vocational education and retraining of the adult population. Also, 43 employers of the Luhansk region joined the event.
At the grand opening of the career guidance event, the chairman of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, the head of the Military-Civil Administration Vitalii Komarnitskyi, the Director of the Department of Education and Science of the LRSA Yuri Stetsiuk, the Director of the Regional Employment Center Serhii Polotsky, the state expert of the Directorate of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Halyna Ponomareva adddressed all those present with a welcoming speech.
Our university was represented by a delegation including Olena Karaman – Director of the ER IPP, Vira Pushko – Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work of the ER IPP, Liudmyla Varianytsia – Associate Professor of the Department of Preschool and Elementary Education, Mykhailo Chumak – Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work of ER ICSTT, Iryna Bakhmet – head of the Marketing Department, Halyna Bogucharska – employee of the Marketing Department, Anton Nazmiev – laboratory assistant of the Department of Pedagogy of the IPP, Anastasia Rozhkova – laboratory assistant of the Department of Production Technology and Professional Education of the ER ICSTT, Tetiana Prokhorova – secretary of the ER ICSTT.
The separate subdivisions of our University also took part in the forum. They were Brianka College, Lysychansk Pedagogical College, Kadievska Pedagogical College, Regional Center for Vocational Education.
During the event, representatives of educational institutions held 86 workshops. The employees of our University held three master classes: art therapy, kanzashi and engraver. The 8th-1th grade pupils, who visited the forum that day, took an interest in these workshops and demonstrated their skills in the fine arts, jewelry, rubber bands, bracelets and decorative plastic items making.
Employees of the Marketing Department together with teachers provided potential applicants with information about the specialties, training features and structural subdivisions of our university. Schoolchildren got information booklets and other printing products in order to learn about the list of institutes, faculties and specialties that we have. In addition, they saw video clips showing the activities of our higher education institution.
About 1000 students from the region’s schools came to Severodonetsk city this day. All of them were focused on training at local higher and vocational schools, further employment in Ukrainian enterprises to prevent the mass departure of talented youth to study and work abroad.
