“Autumn in Stargorod”

Teachers and students of the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism took part in the Art and Tourism Festival “Autumn in Stargorod”.

On October 5, the city of Starobelsk hosted the “Autumn in Stargorod” Festival based on the works of I. Ilf and E. Petrov. The event was attended by the Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism Mykhailo Chumak and teachers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business Yana Moroz and Anastasia Sycheva. Together, specially for the holiday theme, the work was carried out to collect reference material, routes were developed and interesting walking excursions on the history of Starobilsk were prepared on the topics: “Legends of Stargorod”, “Outstanding Merchants and Patrons of Starobilsk”, and “Starobelsk – City of Temples” as well as a bus excursion “Back to the Past with Starobilsk city”.

City tours for students of Starobilsk educational institutions and guests were held by students of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business Alona Hovorova and Yaroslav Vozniak. In Starobilsk, a trip was prepared by sightseeing bus in order to show more outstanding monuments of history and culture. During the trip around the city and surrounding settlements, the student of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business Vitalii Berezhnyi reminded the audience that the city above Aidar River has a glorious centuries-old history full of fateful events, heroic figures and interesting facts that over time turn into mythical stories, that are passed down from generation to generation.

At the end of the excursions, each participant received postcards prepared for the holiday, which depict the sights of the city’s architecture with a brief description of their foundation and history.

In addition to excursions, Olha Boiko, Tetiana Kalinina, Anastasia Kostylova, Maria Natochii and Daria Natochii, students of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technology and Tourism, delighted the guests of the festival with the magical fashion show “Autumn Symphony” as part of the Vintage Fashion Theater.

During the official part of the holiday, the staff of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business was awarded a diploma for their active participation in the Regional Art and Tourism Festival “Autumn in Stargorod”.

Teachers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business express their gratitude to the staff of the Luhansk Museum of Local Lore in Starobilsk city for their active assistance in the preparation and development of reference material.
