Day of Knowledge
2.9.2019
Today celebration of the Day of Knowledge and dedication of freshmen to students took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The morning noise at the University Square marked the beginning of a new academic year. Sincere smiles, hugs of students, teachers and employees of LTSNU symbolize the unification of a large family of the Shevchenko University. Everyone is pleased to feel their involvement in one of the oldest and most modern educational institutions – Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The ceremonial celebration of the Day of Knowledge began with the introduction of the State Flag of Ukraine and the Flag of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. This right was granted to Pavlo Leonov and Vladislav Rusanov. Then it was played the national anthem of Ukraine.
The Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko congratulated the students, teachers and staff: “I am sure that the difficult conditions that we are in today and the difficulties that we are forced to overcome today will pass, and only happy years of students and staff that we spent here in Starobilsk city will be remembered.”
Every year students, teachers and employees of our university enrich the history of their native educational institution with new successes and achievements. For this, employees of the admission committee, volunteers and creative teams were awarded diplomas.
Being a student is certainly interesting. First of all, it is a crazy pace of life. Even in summer, student life does not end, but rather becomes even more diverse. Summer practices, volunteer events, participation in various projects, excursions in Ukraine and beyond left students unforgettable impressions.
The curator of the expedition to the historical and archaeological reserve “Olvia”, Doctor of Historical Sciences, head of the Department of History of Ukraine Oleksandr Naboka shared his and student impressions. He told how the expedition went, what was found valuable and noted the positive moments of student life, which occur not in classrooms, but outside.
A third-year student, a specialty in hotel and restaurant business, Vladislav Zaporozhets shared his impressions of an internship abroad: “Thanks to this practice, I spent the summer on the Black Sea coast in the city of Pomorie, Bulgaria. The internship program combined business with pleasure including interesting work with relaxation and wonderful earnings.”
The most emotional moment on this holiday was the pronouncement of the student’s oath. The right to read the oath fell to freshmen Valeria Prokaza and Yaroslav Vozniak.
A bright addition to the holiday was the students’ creative performances. Funny Ukrainian songs and dances sounded in the square.
The holiday program does not end there. A presentation of the social service, sport club and center for culture and leisure was prepared for freshmen.
Also, they prepared a quest trip to familiarize them with the structural subdivisions, departments and centers of teaching and student activities. In the evening, a festive concert and a disco under the stars were organized for students.
Dear friends, happy beginning of the new academic year! Good health and good mood!
