Freedom and Unity Holiday
24.8.2019
Lecturers, staff and students of LTSNU took part in district events on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of Ukrainian independence.
Independence Day of Ukraine is the largest national holiday, because independence is the most valuable treasure and the most significant asset that generations of Ukrainians have acquired.
Today, lecturers and students of our University joined the district events devoted to the celebration of Independence Day. The university team, led by the chairman of the University Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo and the Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko went to the city park of culture and recreation, where a solemn meeting dedicated to the memory of those who died for the independence of Ukraine took place.
The welcoming speech to all those gathered was addressed by the acting Chairman of the Starobilsk District Council Serhii Domarev. In his speech, he focused on the importance of the unity of Ukrainians and the fact that now our state is not going through a simple time, because we have to defend our territorial integrity. At the end of the speech, all those present honored the memory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who died in the joint operations area.
The solo performance of Marina Karpunina and the touching words of the hosts, which were addressed to those who are defending our native land now, and to those who were taken away by this terrible war, did not leave anyone indifferent.
The event ended with laying flowers at the memorial to the soldiers who died for the independence of Ukraine.
