Victory at the European Championship

Students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took part in the European Diving Championship, which takes place in Kyiv.

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports as part of the national team of Ukraine successfully started these competitions and showed good results. So, master’s student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture” Stanislav Oliferchik won the gold medal together with Viktoria Kesar (synchronized 3m springboard diving). This gold was the first for Ukraine at the “home” European Championship.

The second gold medal was received by a 1st year student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports” Sofia Liskun (10m Platform Diving). She was ahead of Celine van Duijng, an athlete from the Netherlands, by almost 25 points. Sofia’s victory in these competitions, which were qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, allowed her to obtain a license for these Games.
