Practical experience

Students majoring in “Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy” are practicing at the Ukrainian State Medical and Social Center for War Veterans.

For two weeks, students majoring in Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy have practice at the Ukrainian State Medical and Social Center for War Veterans – a medical treatment and rehabilitation institution, which has been granted national status by Decree of the President of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has become the coordinating center for the network of hospitals for the rehabilitation of ATO / JFO participants. The center is one of the most famous medical institutions in Ukraine, equipped with modern medical-diagnostic and rehabilitation equipment. This is a modern hospital with 600 beds, which annually receives more than 9,000 war veterans from all regions of Ukraine.

According to specialists of the Center, students showed good results, actively participating in the process of comprehensive rehabilitation of patients. In turn, students are pleasantly surprised by the work of the institution, in particular with modern rehabilitation equipment.

“For us, this is a very important experience – to work with such equipment, in particular with CPM-therapy devices, which are only in several medical institutions of Ukraine” (Viktoria Rybina, third-year student majoring in Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy).

“The profession of a physical therapist in a few years will be among the top ten most sought-after professions. Thanks to the Center, we have become convinced that our profession is the profession of the future, and we are glad that we have linked our lives with physical therapy” (Serhii Savchenko, third-year student majoring in Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy).

The Department of Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy and Human Health of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports expresses sincere gratitude to the Director of the Ukrainian State Medical and Social Center of War Veterans, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Yurii Grinenko and all employees of the Center for helping to organize practical training for future physical therapists.

The profession of rehabilitologist is the profession of the future.
