Summer Polyathlon Championships

On July 6-7, 2019, the Summer Polyathlon Championships of the Luhansk region was held in the city of Starobilsk.

The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vitalii Kurylo, head of the Family, Youth and Sport Department of the Starobilsk Regional State Administration I.V. Svitlychnyi, chief judge, master of sports of Ukraine, Ukrainian champion in polyathlon S.M. Reznikov. 

More than 50 athletes from the cities of Kreminna, Luhansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, Lysychansk, Starobilsk took part in the competition; and townships: Butovo, Polovynkyne, Podgorivka.

In the team event, the leaders immediately became athletes from Starobilsk city, who in the finals became the winners.

Summer polyathlon is a very emotional and dynamic sport. Young athletes, juniors and adults competed in air rifle shooting, swimming, throwing grenades, running 100 m and 1000 m.

In the category of veteran athletes, Anastasia Chernysh became the winner among women; and among men the victory was won by the lecturer of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Viktor Stepanenko.
