Creative competitions at the Department of Design

The Department of Design held creative competitions for the bachelor’s degree.

The schedule of entrance exams for applicants majoring in “Graphic Design” and “Design of the Environment” was divided into three sessions: from July 1 to 3, 2019, from July 4 to 6, 2019, and from July 8 to 10, 2019 inclusive. Each session included consulting the applicants, holding the first round of the competition (drawing composition of three geometric figures with drapery in pencil) and the second round (drawing still life with drapery in color paints).

The purpose of the creative competition is to identify and test the level of knowledge of the incoming methods, laws, rules, principles and techniques of visual literacy in the process of graphic representation of compositions of medium complexity.

Evaluation of the work took place from the position of certain stocks of knowledge and skills of applicants in reproducing the subject environment, correct representation of the perspective, possession of the linear-constructive structure and laws of the cut-off modeling of the form.

Applicants from the Luhansk region and territories not controlled by the Ukrainian government along the “boundary line” participated in creative contests. The second entered the university under the program “Donbas-Ukraine”. A feature of the admission of this program was the simplified procedure, where applicants had the opportunity to participate in specialized competitions without the external independent evaluation, a certificate and a Ukrainian passport.
