Participation in the International Symposium

Valerii Kolesnikov, Associate Professor of the Department of the Production Technologies and Professional Education, took part in the 14th International Symposium of Ukrainian Mechanical Engineers.

The symposium was held on May 23-24 in Lviv, at the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. Valerii Kolesnikov made a report at the plenary session “The effect of the type of metal matrix on the mechanical machinability of steels and alloys for energy.”

Among the co-authors of the report are such scientists as Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences O.I. Balytskyi from the Institute of Physics and Mechanics named after G. V. Karpenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Jacek Eliasch from West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (Poland), as well as a junior researcher, Ph.D. M.R. Gavryliuk.

The report was devoted to the use of advanced coolants made on the basis of domestic mineral raw materials for use in the manufacture and repair of parts from various alloys. These developments can be widely used to improve the development of the domestic transport industry. After the report, an interesting scientific discussion took place, in which both Ukrainian scientists and scientists from abroad took part.

Also, Valerii Kolesnikov made another report on “Modern materials, surface treatment and protection of machine parts and structures”. The report was presented while working in the section on the study of the machining of austenitic high-nickel steel.

Valerii Kolesnikov prepared a solid presentation for both reports. In addition to the presentations, the section participants learned about the achievements in the transport industry of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism.

The international symposium of this level is a very important scientific event, which has been held every two years in the city of Lviv since 1993. The organizer is the Lviv Polytechnic. Scientists who have significant achievements in a certain field and actively cooperate with international partners can participate in a scientific event. This year scientists from Ukraine, Belarus, Great Britain, Serbia, Poland, Slovakia took part.

In total, during the symposium, 91 reports were presented, which were already issued in pdf format.
