Academic Council Meeting

On May 31, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council was held.

The agenda inlcudes the planned question “About the results of the Days of Science in the academic year 2018-2019″.

Having heard and discussed the report of the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Prof. Leonid Vakhovskyi, the Academic Council noted that during March – May 2019 traditional Days of Science were held in all departments of the university in the form of student’s scientific and practical conferences, competitions, webinars, presentations, round tables, debates, discussion clubs, pedagogical readings, scientific and methodical as well as scientific-practical seminars, master classes, trainings.

In total, 4 international conferences were held as part of the Days of Science, including the I International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Entrepreneurship, Trade: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Aspects of Development”, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Key Problems of Modern German and Romance Philology” ( on the basis of the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology); 11 All-Ukrainian conferences, including the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Trends and Prospects for the Development of Physical Culture of Students and Young People in Multi-Level Education” (based on the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education), the Third All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Luhansk Region: Local Lore Intelligence”, X All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Language and Literature in the Projection of Various Scientific Paradigms” (based on the Department of Philological Disciplines), as well as regional and university level conferences and other scientific events.

68 students became the participants of the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Contest of Student Research Papers. 25 works from 14 specialties were sent to participate in the second stage of the Contest, according to the results of which 5 prizes were taken. In 2019, 161 students took part in Stage I of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in branches and specialties, of which 11 students in 5 specialties became participants in Stage II. At the VII All-Ukrainian distance contest of student’s research papers on social pedagogy / social work (2019) 2 social projects and social advertising were submitted. Only 28 students of the university became winners of student competitions and scientific and creative competitions of various levels.

Student collections of scientific papers “Formation of mechanisms for managing quality and improving the competitiveness of goods and services”, “Scientific search for young researchers”, “Methodical box for a modern teacher”, “Methodical box for a teacher”, “Language and literature in the projection of various scientific paradigms”, “The scientific potential of the researcher: philological and methodological search” and others were prepared and issued. Students and postgraduates prepared about 600 publications.

The Days of Science were actively held in all structural subdivisions of the university with the participation of leading scientists of the basic educational institution and invited scientists and practical workers.

At the same time, the Academic Council notes that there are certain difficulties and shortcomings in organizing and conducting the Days of Science and scientific work with students, including the lack of activity of the departments to prepare students for participation in Stage II of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad; insufficient scientific level of student publications; inactivity on the part of individual institutions to the publication of the results of students’ research work.

Among other things, according to the results of the secret ballot, the Academic Council decided to apply for the honorary title “Honored Artist of Ukraine” to the teacher of the Department of Musical Art and Choreography of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts of the LTSNU Konstiantyn V. Krepak. Traditionally, the Academic Council recommended scientific and educational works for printing, approved the topics of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

According to the decision of the Academic Council, the Department of Economic Theory, Marketing and Entrepreneurship was renamed the Department of Economics, Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
