Labor Safety Day

April 28, students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University celebrate Labor Safety Day.

Every year on April 28, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 18, 2006, World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated in our country. The celebration of this day was first held in 2003, but in 1989, American and Canadian workers celebrated Memorial Day in honor of those who died in the workplace. After that, similar events were organized around the world. Over time, this day has united all those who seek to make a person’s work more secure for his health and life. The official events dedicated to this holiday are usually attended by the leaders of large companies, industrial giants, public organizations, etc.

This year, the International Labor Organization defined the motto of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work –  “Labor Safety at Work of the Future”. The theme of the event was the slogan “Safe and Healthy Future of Labor.” Therefore, our students decided to clean the University. The action was accompanied by songs and cheerful mood. Such events are an important component of student life, because joint work brings together and unites.
