This motto of the Paralympic sport really describes the life, teaching and trainings of our athletes with disabilities.

Just recently, they have returned from Kirovohrad where Ukrainian Championship in athletics was held. This was one of the last stages of selection for the World Championship in Qatar. Regional team included the fourth-year students of IPES Artem Borovskoi, Serhii Dvortsov, Andrii Serdiuk, Oleksandr Tsapun and the second-year student Tymofii Kholodov.

Dvortsov was the best in the sectors (class F 57). As a result – three gold medals in shot put, discus and javelin throw. Serhii is a famous powerlifter, master of sports of international class. His performance in Kirovohrad was the first start in new sport for him. The golden start!

Traditionally there was a throwing competition in the class F 35 between our students Oleksandr Tsapun and Tymofii Kholodov. This time Oleksandr won two silver (shot, discus) and gold medal (javelin). More experienced Tymofii was the first with good results in shot put and discus throw.

Andrii Serdiuk and Artem Borovskoi also performed well in the competitions. Andrii showed uncommon persistence during trainings and so obtained two third places in 100 and 200 m run (class T 44). Artem has been engaged in athletics since October 2014 (earlier he had played in the football team) and therefore his sixth place in 100 m and the fifth one in 200 m run (class T 36) are a great success.

Championship confirmed the excellent physical level of T. Kholodov. His participation in the World Championship – 2015 does not cause doubts. S. Dvortsov has chances for a trip to Qatar as well. In the end of August he is participating in the final stage of selection.

A significant contribution to the victory was made by team trainer H. F. Starostina, Honored Trainer of Ukraine, Honorary Citizen of Luhansk with which our university has been working for many years. It is thanks to the efforts of Rymma Fedorivna that team of Luhansk region has not only been saved, but also took the first team place in the competitions.

After arriving to Kreminna athletes and trainer met with IPES administration. Director of the Institute, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Honored Trainer of Ukraine Yu. M. Poluliyashchenko congratulated students on successful performance and H. F. Starostina informally spoke about the performance of our athletes and about the difficulties that had to be overcome on the way to the Championship. Rymma Fedorivna did everything possible so that the athletes come to Kreminna and got good conditions for living and training. She managed to take out sports equipment from Luhansk, when militias were   very carefully examining luggage at the security road blocks. Our students train with great zeal and do not forget about studying. They have friendly-business relationships with the teachers of the Institute, who with pleasure conduct additional consultations, interest in the results of training and competition. Holding meeting allowed defining the ways of further cooperation.
