Honorary Doctor of Sciences of LTSNU

Today a solemn event took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. It was presentation of the diploma “Honorary Doctor of Sciences of LTSNU” to Jan Peyril, the employee of the Czech Development Agency.
Since 2015, our University has been cooperating with the Czech Development Agency, which during this time has provided the university with significant assistance: a modern computer class for 25 computers, server equipment, multimedia equipment, and also helped to equip a new hostel for students.
Today, our University was visited by the project manager of the Czech Development Agency, Jan Peyril. The meeting began with a tour of the restored main building, where the guest saw the newly opened study room of the New Ukrainian school, and then saw a hostel, which, in fact, was managed to be equipped thanks to the support of our Czech friends.
Then the meeting continued in the assembly hall, where the Rector Serhii Savchenko, on behalf of the entire teaching and student team of Shevchenko University, expressed gratitude for all the assistance provided during the three years of cooperation. And on the occasion of the celebration of the 98th anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, in accordance with the Regulations “On Honorary Awards” and “On Honorary Titles”, for establishing international cooperation, significant contribution to the development of the material and technical base, formation and popularization of a decent international image of the University Jan Peyril received a diploma “Honorary Doctor of Science of LTSNU”, an academic gown and a cap.
The guest noted, “It is very nice for me to get the title of “Honorary Doctor of Science”. When I return to the Czech Republic, I will definitely put a letter in my office and tell everyone about Starobilsk city”.
Alina Oliinyk, the chairman of the student self-government, also addressed the honored guest with words of welcome and thanked for the help and improvement of living conditions in the hostel.
The regular visit of the project manager of the Czech Development Agency took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. And once again we want to express deep gratitude to Czech friends who help our team in improving the image of the University and look forward to a fruitful continuation of our cooperation.
