Teachers and students of the Department of Commodity Research, Commercial Business and Products Expertise took part in the scientific and practical seminar-training “Part I: Evaluation of Diamonds in Metal (Jewelry)”.

The event was held on April 1 on the basis of the Poltava Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The seminar-training was held by the head of the department for the examination of precious stones of the “EV.RO.LOMBARD” association, “EV.RO.FINANCY LTD AND COMPANY” (Kyiv), the main expert of the public organization “Research and Development Center “Independent Expertise” (the city of Poltava), Candidate of Geological Sciences, Tetiana Ivanivna Drozd.

The participants of the scientific-practical seminar-training were employees of Poltava Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and members of the NGO “Research Center “Independent Expertise”.

During the scientific-practical seminar-training, the participants considered issues such as the physicochemical properties of diamonds, imitation of diamonds, visual determination of the basic properties of muasonite, classification and definition of diamonds by shapes and types of cut (in products), cut elements of diamonds cr-57, cr-33, cr-17, determination of the mass of diamonds in metal, consolidation of the theory on jeweler examples.

According to the results of the seminar-training under the program of short-term advanced training, participants received competence in evaluating diamonds in metal (jewelry) determining the market value, according to the above program and certificates.

Specialists of the department of commodity research, commercial business and products expertise, the Poltava Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the NGO “Research Center “Independent Expertise” plan to conduct further joint scientific and practical seminar-trainings in various areas of scientific and methodological support of commodity expertise.
